I graduated with my teaching degree from Drake University. I love working with students, parents and staff. I am here to support family, staff and classroom activities–meeting needs and providing information, comfort and opportunities. I have degrees in child-development and social work, and have worked in early childhood for more than 30 years. I am happy to introduce myself as the school counselor at Greenwood. I received my teaching degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
I attended Watrous Elementary, Brody Middle School, and Lincoln High School. I am a proud graduate of the Des Moines Public Schools. I attended McKee Elementary ( when it was a neighborhood elementary school), Hoyt Middle school and East High school. While at East I attended school with 7 cousins and my sister. We are a close East side family. This began my 9 career as an administrator, 8 of those were with Des Moines Public Schools. When the opportunity to teach was presented I couldn’t pass it up.
I am from the Southside of Des Moines. I went to Lincoln, and then Iowa State University, where I received my BA in English Education. I did my student teaching here at Brody and this is my second year officially working in the school as a special education teacher. Before this I was also a substitute for DMPS, so I have been all over the district.

I started my teaching career in the Des Moines Public Schools in 1999 and I have taught at Brody since 2005. I teach Physical / Health Education. I was born and raised on the South side of Des Moines. I attended Watrous Elementary, Brody Middle School, and Lincoln High School.
